Terms of service

Last updated October 10, 2026

suite2suite is a secondhand marketplace for Harvard College students, built and run by students. It is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Harvard University. We use Harvard’s name only to say who can sign in.

These terms are the rules for using suite2suite. By signing in, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. “We” and “us” means the students who run suite2suite. Questions go to info@suite2suite.com.

Who can use suite2suite

  • You need a current @college.harvard.edu Google account, and it has to be yours. One account per person; don’t share it or let anyone else use it.
  • You must be 18 or older, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission to use the site.
  • If you stop being a student at Harvard College, you can no longer sign in once your college account closes.

What suite2suite is, and isn’t

  • We connect buyers and sellers. We are not part of any sale. We don’t own, inspect, hold or deliver anything listed, and we don’t handle money. Sales are between you and the other student.
  • We don’t charge fees. If that ever changes, we’ll tell you first, and it won’t apply to anything already listed.
  • We don’t check listings, people or payments before they appear. The college sign-in is the only check. Ratings are other students’ opinions, not ours.

Buying and selling

  • List only things you own and have the right to sell, and describe them honestly: condition, size, flaws, and photos of the actual item. You can have up to 20 listings up at once.
  • An accepted offer or a confirmed time is a plan, not a contract we enforce. Please keep to it, and if you can’t, say so in the conversation as early as you can. Repeated no-shows can be reported.
  • Payment is between you. Venmo, Zelle or cash is your choice; we never see it. Don’t pay before you’ve seen the item, and don’t send money to anyone other than the person you’re meeting.
  • Meet in person, in a public or shared space on campus, in daylight if you can. Bring a friend if you like. Check the item before you pay.
  • Rate honestly, and only people you actually arranged to meet. Don’t offer or trade ratings, and don’t rate from a second account.

What you can’t list

suite2suite is for physical items. You can’t list:

  • Study materials: notes, problem sets, exams, answer keys, essays, flashcard decks or other course work, in any form, or offers to do someone’s work. This protects you under the Harvard College Honor Code.
  • Anything Harvard owns, such as dorm furniture, mattresses, keys or ID cards.
  • Housing: rooms, sublets or housing swaps.
  • Tickets to any event.
  • Services, gift cards or anything else that isn’t a physical item.
  • Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, cannabis or any drug, prescription medicine, or drug paraphernalia.
  • Weapons, including replicas, ammunition, fireworks, pepper spray, and knives other than kitchen ones.
  • Stolen, counterfeit or recalled goods.
  • Live animals.
  • Adult content, or anything else that’s illegal in Massachusetts.

How to behave

  • Don’t harass, threaten, discriminate against or stalk anyone, on or off the site.
  • Don’t scam or mislead anyone, or pretend to be someone else.
  • Don’t use what someone shares with you (their phone, Venmo or room number) for anything but the sale you arranged.
  • Don’t post photos of other people without their permission.
  • Don’t scrape, spam, automate, overload or try to break into the site, or get around its limits.

If someone breaks these rules, use Report on the listing, the conversation or their seller page.

Your content

  • You own what you post: your listings and photos. You give us permission to store them, show them on suite2suite, and resize or crop them to fit, for as long as they’re on the site.
  • Only post photos you took or have the right to use. If you think something on the site infringes your copyright, email info@suite2suite.com with what it is and where.

What we can do

  • Remove listings, or limit or close accounts, that break these terms or that we reasonably think put someone at risk, with or without notice. If we remove something of yours, you can email us to ask why.
  • Read a reported conversation while the report is open, as the privacy policy says.
  • Change or stop the site, or any part of it, at any time.

Ending your account

You can stop using suite2suite at any time, and delete your account from your profile page. Deleting it is permanent: it removes your profile, your listings and their photos, your saves and ratings, and every conversation you were in, for the other person too. Reports you made, and reports about you, are kept with your name and email, so we can still act on them. If you sign in again later, you start a new account.

No guarantees

suite2suite is provided as is. We do our best, but we don’t promise it will always work or be free of mistakes, or that any listing, item, rating or person is what it seems. We’re not responsible for items, payments, meetups, or anything that happens between users, on or off the site.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for anything arising from a sale, a meetup or another user’s conduct. Our total liability to you for anything to do with suite2suite is limited to $50. Nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited.

If you break these terms and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Disputes

If there’s a problem, email us first and we’ll try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the laws of Massachusetts, and any dispute goes to the courts of Massachusetts.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For anything significant, we’ll tell you on the site before it applies. If you keep using suite2suite after that, you accept the change.
